SPECIAL EVENTS: Second Saturday Children's Programs!
The Raleigh City Museum is offering a new element to our education programs. Starting in September, the second Saturday of every month is now devoted to children’s programs. Each month will cover a new theme and aspect of Raleigh history. Kids will enjoy craft stations, reading corners, and the overall museum experience as they learn about our Capital city. Saturday hours are from 1-4pm. Admission is free.
MARCH
Our Second Saturday program in March is Skyscrapers of Raleigh. Join us at the Raleigh City Museum on March 13, from 2:00p.m. to 3:00p.m. as we explore our city’s architectural past during this fun and exciting program. We will learn about Raleigh’s first skyscraper, how they are built and have changed over time, and about skyscrapers that haven’t been constructed yet! Each participant will receive a Skyscrapers of Raleigh Coloring Book and will have the opportunity to design their own tower. Admission is free.
APRIL
On Saturday, April 10, at 2:00p.m., Raleigh City Museum staff will lead children and families on a historic walking tour of Fayetteville Street. Children will hear fascinating stories such as the search for Thomas Briggs’ gold and the Governor’s Mansion mystery. This tour will last approximately one hour and is open to the public. Children should be accompanied by an adult and the program is appropriate for ages 6 and up. This program is free but limited to the first 25 participants. Call (919)832-3775 ext. 23 to RSVP today!
